What Fresh Asphalt Actually Does

Most sealers sit on top like paint. Fresh Asphalt penetrates and goes after the binder, the glue that holds pavement together. A restored binder makes the surface flexible again, and flexible asphalt resists cracking through freeze and thaw.

On top, it reseals the surface and blocks the things that eat pavement:

Independent testing at NCAT, the National Center for Asphalt Technology, measured what the treatment does to aged pavement. Flexibility improved 88.9% within four weeks of application, which means far less cracking. Cold-weather durability scores improved too, and that matters through a Northwest winter.
